  14. the addons are as good as the people that write them. So you’re not necessarily guaranteed the quality of proprietary software

  16. There is an addon for firefox that will let you split the screen in many ways, just like opera.

  17. opera has had tabs on top (yes, above the address bar) since at least opera 8 (the first version I used)

most browser innovations have been done by opera, though other browsers tend to implement them in a better way

  19. I don’t care “who copied who” because it will never affect the way I use my browser. So what if Safari copied chrome (which they didn’t). Fact is, even if they have copied it, they have improved on it and made it even better. It’s not some cheap rip-off, it is much better. And I only use the best. That’s why I run OSX and use Safari and Firefox. If chrome was for Mac and it was better than Safari, then I would use it. But it’s not, and thats why I don’t. XD

  20. safari gives you more screen realistate although I prefer firefox for the add-ons. add-blocker is great for youtube vids. and the only time safari opens faster than firefox is right when I boot up my macbook. safari will load in a bounce and firefox may take 2 or 3.

  21. I think “Firefox isn’t anything special except for the add-ons.” … Those add-ons can mimic almost everything thing any other browser has..

  22. You mean that Google Chrome came up with the tabs ‘on the top’ idea?
I would not say improved it.
They used the idea and removed one feature that i love in Chrome.
When you have let’s say 15 tabs up and you want to start closing tabs, the little button that closes a tab stays under your mouse in Chorme until you move your pointer away. Compared to safari 4 where the tabs instantly resize when you close a tab. That means that you kinda have to chase the “x” marks.

    Dig them both tho.
