What level of creme developer should I use?

My hair is currently dark blonde, and I’m coloring it a really light strawberry blonde/red. I want the absolute brightest results possible… I have some 40 volume creme developer but I’m not sure if that’s the right kind that I need?

Oh and it also says to mix the developer in with my permanent hair dye… Should I do that or do I apply it before?

I have Loreal devloper and Revlon Colorist Dark Auburn. Is it okay to mix them together. The developer is from a kit for lightest ash brunette.Submited by:richelleygirl

I understand it’s meant for professionals, but I’m curious if any developer can be used with any hair color, or must it be the same brand? As a side note, does anyone know that ratio for SoColor to developer? Is it 1:1? Thanks.Submited by:Hot Kirin!

ok so i got this loreal preference hair dye in natural black and theres a 3 on the bottle and the base is nertral

so i was told that i have to mix it witha developer and the lady at the store gave me clairol pure white 20 but i don’t know how much to add togeter be cause they didn’t come together and there are no instructions!!!! help!

I know I need color and developer, but I do not know what brand (I want the best kind for best results) and I do not know what developer is but i know I need it. I am wanting to go from a “dirty/golden blond” to a more lighter (about 3 shades or so)..almost bleached but not white. I want to go to Sally’s beauty supply to get the professional products. I’m planning on using foil too.
