How do I go about putting lightener and developer on my hair?
Posted by printer - 22/04/10 at 07:04:54 amI dyed my hair to a reddish blonde (slightly lighter than my natural color) two months ago and am sporting some darker blonde roots now. I want a lighter blonde that covers both my roots and colored hair. My stylist told me mixing lightener, developer, and shampoo would work. I’ve purchased Wellite Creme lightener and 20 volume developer at the suggestion of Sally Beauty. Now what do I do? How much of each product do I need to mix and how long should I leave it on? I just want to lighten my hair and even out the colors. I don’t want to overly bleach it and end up with fakey-looking hair. Thanks in advance for the help!
PS: The lady at Sally called my hair a “level 10.” I don’t know if that information helps any. Let me know if I can tell you anything else that would help.
My roots are level 10 and are a dark blonde, the hair color I used was a home color: L’Oreal Excellence Light Reddish Blonde (9RB). My hair is medium to thick and is wavy/curly with some fairly-tight curls framing my face. There is really very little red in my colored hair- it’s a tad bit orange when the light hits it right, otherwise it looks blonde. My natural color has cool shades of light brown, and dark and medium blonde. I bought the lightener and developer from Sally Beauty Supply, which is kind of a professional beauty supply store open to the public. They certainly carry things I can’t find at the grocery.
Just send me an email at felix_dovetail@yahoo.com if you’ve already answered the question. Thanks a lot!Submited by:felix_dovetail
What happens if you use double the hydrogen peroxide developer than was required on the package?

What is the difference between 20 volume developer and 30 volume developer?
Posted by printer - 13/03/10 at 05:03:17 amI usually get my hair done at the salon, but I needed to cut back and I touched up my roots at home. My color is a 8N and I used a 20 volume developer and I cannot really did not notice much of a difference. Since this was my first time doing it myself I was alittle scared and did not use much of the color. I put it on very lightly. I was wondering if I should use a 30 volume developer or put the color on heavier. Also, how soon before I can try again?
What Developer do I Need to Dye Dark Brown Hair Light Brown?
Posted by printer - 28/02/10 at 06:02:28 pmMy hair is about a level 2 dark brown, almost black. I’ve been using a box dye in level 6 light golden brown every 6-8 weeks for about a year. The color is close to what I want but, it’s very blah dull. I’m going to sally’s, what level developer do I need and should I choose a light brown or dark blond to get the results I want?
can i use another developer with goldwell acid color?
Posted by printer - 26/02/10 at 07:02:05 pmilovethecarebears1980 asked:
I have ran out of developer and the store doesn’t get any in until next week. I have various other developers and peroxides of different strengths but I’ve never used a different developer with the wrong dye before. I have light brown roots and dark blond ends.
Also due to previous issues any nasty comments will be reported.
