What is the best design a balsa wood bridge?
Posted by printer - 14/04/10 at 10:04:15 pmWhat is the best possible design for a bridge made from balsa wood? Links to images/ideas greatly appreciated, the bridge cannot have any finishing, however steaming to allow curves is allowed.

How are our current worldly conditions changing the design and production of the modern car?
Posted by printer - 04/01/10 at 11:01:42 amHow are our current worldly conditions changing the design and production of the modern car? Will we have the variety available? Will all the companies still exist? What about the economy, climate, global relationships, etc.? How are those affecting the design of the modern automobile? And could you include websites where you found it so I can read further?Submited by:kingdomheartsbabie
What are good books for learning about the design specifics of guns?
Posted by printer - 07/12/09 at 06:12:45 am- materials different parts are made with
- part dimensions (ie, barrel thickness)
- calibers of different guns and the speeds at which the fire bullets
- what role electronics play in guns
- design specifics of loading mechanisms
I am looking for anything that involves the engineering, design, and specifics of various guns (not necessarily info on history, how to fire guns, and the like).
What are some good books or resources to help me with this particular information?
Thanks.

What design would you use to build a pyramid with the largest interior cavity, only using primative methods?
Posted by printer - 13/11/09 at 12:11:27 amThe design i was thinking about was a half oval (with 4 arches), with the open end down, and the pyramid built around it. The design should be structurally sound, and the construction materials used are only stone (like the egyptians). No current-day technologies can be used. Thanks for the help.
What is the standard circuit design software in the Electrical Engineering industry?
Posted by printer - 11/11/09 at 09:11:48 pmI would like to know if there was a standard program used for circuit design and simulation within the EE industry. I am currently learning on Quartus II Web (which is pretty nice).
Also, is there a generally standard or popular FPGA dev kit that is used?
Thanks in advanced!Submited by:Charlie
