Ok i just installed windows 7 on my computer. The problem occurs out of nowhere. Basically the computer freezes and the led on mouse goes out. What could be the problem its a clean install of windows 7?

I downgraded from vista to xp, and i left my video card in there while doing. Now when i play newer games and/or if its left running for awhile. It gets accelerated on the older games. Example, when i play counterstrike source, i cant go back to the original without restarting my computer or i get video card lag. It skips every couple seconds and it looks like i have speed hacks.
Yes i did. I have reinstalled the drivers numerous times.
