What kind of window treatments work well with bay windows that are on the front of the house?
Posted by printer - 13/12/09 at 04:12:41 pmAnother asker asked how she should decorate the area around her bay windows. Those answers (benches, plants, wicker, etc) were helpful, but I am more interested in window treatments.Submited by:TW
Tall skinny windows and lots of them-Any ideas for window coverings?
Posted by printer - 11/12/09 at 07:12:58 amThe challenge with this room is the windows. There are 7 windows plus french doors. 4 of these windows are 6 feet tall and only 2 feet wide. They all currently have 2″ wood slat blinds. I think I want to dress up the windows, but don’t know what to do with the skinny windows. I’m not crazy about valances in general. My style is casual contemporary leaning toward traditional, but the kitchen is going to be ultra-modern with a 9X7 foot island.
What can a person do with this many windows PLUS having these narrow windows?

Is my design idea for my bedroom good and how can I make it better?
Posted by printer - 24/11/09 at 03:11:26 amI just moved into a new apartment. I’m having furniture delivered from Ikea that is black/brown, all with squared edges and simple lines. (Malm, Mikael, & Expedit) Walls are currently (and will probably stay) white. I want my design to be simple Japanese/Asian meets colorful beach house. Bedding, wall decorations, and accessories are to be colorful (think the color wheel from elementary school). By keeping the the colors to bedding and accessories, I want to be able to alternate it with a more zen-like/earth tone style whenever the mood hits me.
Would this design work? What colors should I concentrate on or avoid? Is there other advice you might have to make this space amazing?
Do you think my niche in interior design for children with green design a good specialty?
Posted by printer - 20/11/09 at 09:11:35 pmI have an business in interior design and decorative painting. I have recently decided to specialize in children’s decor from the nursery to teen-age retreat with an emphasis on eco-friendly products that are organic and all natural. I am a full service design studio, but wanted to be set apart from the rest. What do you think?
What tools do you need and what steps must you take in order to mistake-proof painting a room?
Posted by printer - 19/11/09 at 01:11:07 amI am planning on painting my bedroom with my father. We do not want to call the professionals, as it is too expensive for a job that we are capable of.
What tools should we acquire to mistake-proof the job?
Are there any specific techniques, methods, or steps we should follow for a flawless finish?
Any tips on getting the perfectly painted room?
Thank you!Submited by:jәяsәу.♥

How to decorate exterior windows, space too narrow for shutters?
Posted by printer - 15/11/09 at 05:11:39 pmbritcaro asked:
We are installing new (paintable vinyl) exterior shutters on windows. We have two windows that have narrow space on each side — too narrow for 7″ shutter (the smallest we’ve found so far). We have about 5″ to work with. Can we get something to “frame” these windows – vinyl strips? – that can be painted to match the new shutters, so these windows won’t look naked?
